Confirming customer subscription intent, identifying and authenticating customers for service provision, maintaining and managing membership status, etc.

- Retention period: Retained for 2 years after inquiry receipt (unless otherwise required by related laws)
5. Destruction of Personal Information
KoreaConnect, in principle, destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of processing has been achieved. The procedure, deadline, and method of destruction are as follows:
- Destruction procedure: Information entered by the user is transferred to a separate database (or separate document in the case of paper) after achieving the purpose and stored for a certain period according to internal policies and relevant laws, or destroyed immediately. The transferred personal information is not used for other purposes unless legally required.
- Destruction deadline: Personal information of users will be destroyed within 5 days after the expiration of the retention period or within 5 days after it is recognized that the information is no longer necessary due to achievement of the processing purpose, discontinuation of the service, or business closure.
6. Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices
- KoreaConnect uses “cookies” that store and retrieve user information to provide personalized services.
- Cookies are small pieces of information sent by the server (https) to the user’s browser and may be stored on the user’s hard disk.
- a. Purpose of cookie use: To analyze visits and usage patterns of each service and website visited by users, popular search terms, security connection status, etc., and provide optimized information to users.
- b. Installation, operation, and rejection of cookies: Users can refuse cookie storage via the browser settings (Tools > Internet Options > Privacy menu).

KoreaConnect takes the following technical, managerial, and physical measures in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act:
- Minimization and education of personal information handlers: Personal information handlers are designated and limited to minimize personnel handling personal information and manage information safely.
- Access restrictions to personal information: Access rights to the personal information database system are granted, changed, or revoked to control access, and intrusion prevention systems are used to block unauthorized external access.
